Lend a helping hand

This Saturday night we will be open from 6-8:30 for a special fundraising event to help the Ben Hedman family. We will be having live music and a raffle with all proceeds going to the Hedmans recovery fund.

Ben Hedman is a friend and member of the North Anna Power Station Security Force working for Dominion in Mineral. On Friday February 5th Ben was on his way home from working the night shift and was involved in a very serious car accident. Ben suffered a punctured lung and multiple compound fractures in one leg. He has undergone many surgeries and skin graphs to mend his leg. He is currently at home with a veruy challenging recovery ahead of him. Ben, his wife Jamie and their two young boys, Jack and Jude know that they have been blessed in so many ways and are so grateful that things were not any worse than what they are.

The recovery is day to day as the leg heals and then Ben will moe on to therapy to get it working again. Solid Grounds is asking for your donations to help our friends with the financial challenges that the Hedman's face as a result of this life changing event.

Ben is also an Army Reserve Drill Sergeant and an EMT with his local Volunteer Fire Department. He has also been an avid runner and participated in the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington D.C. in 2007.

Please pray for Ben and his family and for a full recovery.

For more information on Ben and for updated details of his recovery, please visit: www.carepages.com his carepage name is BenHedman

If you would like to make a donation but can not attend our fundraising event, please make checks payable to: The Ben Hedman recovery fund and you can drop the checks off at any Wachovia in Mineral or Louisa, or you can also drop them off at Solid Grounds Coffee House.
